We’re the Dong Family!

Meet the Doctors — Your Family, Our Family

Welcome to See Saw Eyecare — a neighborhood practice rooted in family, shaped by conviction, and run by people who genuinely care about doing things well. We’re Dr. Jon and Dr. Iwona Dong, and we opened this clinic because we believe eye care should feel personal, thoughtful, and grounded in values that don’t bend just because “everyone else does it that way.”

We’re not a chain.
We’re not corporate.
We’re your neighbors — choosing to build something steady and honest right here in the community we love.

Patients often tell us that their experience here feels real — thorough, intentional, and unrushed, with a kind of care that’s both skilled and genuinely human. That’s exactly what we hope for. Our faith quietly shapes how we show up: loving people well, welcoming all nations and backgrounds, and doing our work with integrity. No spotlight, no pressure — just a way of life.

Jonathan Dong, O.D.

Dr. Jon grew up in Kent — these streets, these schools, this community. After studying Physiology at the University of Washington, he headed to the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago… and promptly met Iwona, which turned out to be one of the better plot twists of his life.

Dr. Jon is the kind of doctor who believes skill matters, clarity matters, and doing things right matters. Patients trust him not because he knows it all, but because he’s steady: he listens carefully, explains thoroughly, and always takes the time needed to get things right.

Outside the clinic, Jon can talk Seattle Mariners strategy longer than most people expect, and yes — he’s a closeted professional musician. (It’s fine. We’re all waiting for the album.) He brings that same depth and attentiveness into his patient care: focused, thoughtful, and grounded.

Iwona Miltko Dong, O.D.

Dr. Iwona was born in Białystok, Poland and raised in Chicago, growing up bilingual in Polish. She brings a mix of compassion, precision, and honest encouragement to her work — especially with kids. Parents regularly tell us their children leave feeling more confident than they arrived, which is exactly the goal.

Her approach is warm but direct:
Care enough to be thorough.
Be patient.
Be kind.
And never underestimate a child’s ability to rise to the occasion when someone believes in them.

At home, she’s the engine of craftiness — the sourdough magician, sewing mastermind, and the reason the rest of the family knows where anything is. Her sense of order and artistry spills into the practice more than she’ll admit.

Our Crew — the Center of Everything

We’re parents to Krystian, Anastazja, and little Eliasz — our lively trio who fill our life with humor, motion, and multilingual attempts at Polish and Spanish. They keep us humble, grounded, and grateful, and they remind us daily of why it matters to build a place where families feel safe and cared for.

Our Values — Quiet but Clear

“Family-first” isn’t a slogan for us — it’s a lens.
It shapes how we make decisions, how we schedule appointments, how we treat people, and how we practice optometry.

It means:

  • Do what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest path.

  • Care with skill, not shortcuts.

  • Treat every person with dignity.

  • Welcome people from all backgrounds with open arms.

  • Build community with honesty, humility, and joy.

Our Faith sits gently under everything we do — not in loud declarations, but in the way we hope people feel seen, respected, and cared for. We want our work to reflect grace, truth, and a kind of love you don’t have to name to recognize.

Our Promise to You

When you come to See Saw Eyecare, you can expect thoughtful explanations, careful exams, honest guidance, and a team that takes your concerns seriously. We care about your vision, yes — but we also care about your experience, your comfort, and the way you feel when you walk out the door.

We’re here to serve families — with skill, with heart, with joy, and with the conviction that doing things well is always worth it.

If this feels like your kind of place… welcome. It sounds like you’re already part of the See Saw family.
